May Monthly Goals-Quarantine Edition

monthly goals

I’m hoping that this is the last month that I will include the “Q” word in my title. Though life will never be as it was, I’m ready to establish some new norms come June.
As you’ll recall in April, I opted to scale back the goals due to my state’s “shelter in place” (SIP) order. And I am working very hard to stay in my home unless absolutely necessary.
I chose to focus on goals that were mostly home focused.

Let’s review what was on tap in April (the first full month of SIP).

HOME

-Plank the mirror wall (DONE)
-Change faucets in the master bath (DONE)
-Stain shelves (DONE)
-Hang shelves over the toilet (DONE)
-Make at least 2 decor signs for the master bathroom (DONE)
-Hang new toilet paper holder (DONE)
-Frame out medicine cabinet (DONE)
-Clean and organize at least 2 kitchen cabinets (NOPE)
Clearly being in the house 24 hours per day is the key to getting home projects completed!

CREATIVE

-Make cards (DONE)
-Work on photo organization project at least 30 minutes per week. (NOPE)

SPIRITUAL

-Continue daily gratitude journal (DONE)-I have to acknowledge how difficult it can be some days to find things to be grateful for other than being safe in my home. I try to find more ordinary things to notice and be grateful for.
-Read at least 50 pages of Everything is Figureoutable. (NOPE). I have been doing more reading but just haven’t picked up this book.
One of the positives I am attempting to take away from this SIP is that I actually have time to do the things I’ve said I wanted to do.
I created a post it note board with many of the tasks I want to accomplish. It’s not exhaustive but it’s pretty extensive.

It has been helpful for me to see this list all day, everyday and remind me of my goals.

MAY GOALS

For May I have decided to continue with the focus on home goals but this time less major project focused. I will continue to work on finishing up my master bath but this month will focus more on home organization projects/getting my space in order.

HOME

-Clean out at least 2 kitchen cabinets
-Clean out the pantry
-Clean out the refrigerator
-Clean out the freezer

CREATIVE

-Decide on the 3-11×14 signs for the master bathroom
-Monthly cards-Mother’s Day and Birthdays

SPIRITUAL

-Continue with daily gratitude journal
-Read 50 pages from Everything is Figureoutable

HEALTH/FITNESS

I consciously chose not to focus on this area in April because I was not feeling being active at all. I noticed that my mood was not great for much of the month and I think that the lack of movement is at least partly responsible. I have joined a virtual movement challenge through my job for 5 weeks starting May 4 and am attempting get back get my groove back on.

-Walk at least 3 times per week

May has started and is ready to go. It is my desire that by May 31, I will have lots of stuff done and/or completed and I will be establishing an exercise habit!
