July Small Goals-June Results

JUNE GOALS  WITH RESULTS:

FINISH GALLERY WALL: Total and complete fail. I have not chosen the photos let alone put them in the frames and then put them on the wall. One of the reasons I think I am having such an issue with finishing this project is the thought of having to go through my very extensive photo library to choose pictures is quite overwhelming.  I really want photos that are old and new so that will require lots of searching and thought. I know I’ll be happy when it’s done and the pics are on the wall but getting there is no fun!

CLEAN OUT 3 DRAWERS: Partial fail.  While I didn’t actually get to any drawers in the bedroom, I did finish the medicine cabinet, a drawer in the master bath, and both cabinets in the master bath. The large cabinets were quite an undertaking and took quite a bit of time so I do feel pleased with what I’ve accomplished.

CLEAN OUT 1 CABINET IN THE MASTER BATH: SUCCESS and over achiever! As noted above, I did more than planned.

JULY GOALS:

Clean out 3 drawers in the master bedroom. Since I didn’t get to it in June, I’ll shoot for it this month.  One of the drawers will definitely be my t-shirt drawer.  It is packed to the gills, will barely open or close, I can’t see what’s in the drawer so many cute shirts are not being worn (and that is just wrong)!

Gallery Wall: Choose the photos.  That’s it!  I already know the sizes and the number of photos I need.  I just need to go through my photo library and choose the pics.

CD project: Like many people, I have a crap load of CD’s.  I don’t really listen to them anymore but I am not interested in getting rid of them at least not without saving the music.  Ultimately, I want all of the CD’s in a music library on my computer.  This is a massive time undertaking and will be done in small bite sized pieces over a long period of time! My goal for this month is to start the project by removing the CD’s from the 2 holders I have in the living room and master bedroom, write down what I have and store them away. Later on, as I add the music to the library, I can check them off my the list.

THE PLAN:

  • Write it down! One of the things that I didn’t do in June that I will do in July is write the task down in my planner.
  • Set a time limit! I need to determine how much time I can give to the task on different days and then set a timer. Some days I can do 15 minutes while other days I’ll do an hour.
  • When I need motivation, I will set a 15 minute timer and just do something.  If I feel like continuing after, then I will.  If I don’t, then I’ll stop!

With it being summer and all, I’m trying to not go overboard with the “to-do”list.  There has to be time for fun, relaxing and just taking it easy!
