2026 Has Arrived. Have I? New Year/Same Me.

Happy New Year

I have been very quiet on my blog for a while-since June 2025.
What happened???? Nothing special.  I was just busy and tired and involved in life and didn’t make time to just sit down and write. And, I’ve missed it.
But I have continued to make goals each month and continued to work on home projects. I’ve continued with monthly memory keeping as well as working on my annual reading goal.

New Year Books

I’ve thought long and hard about whether or not to keep up with this space and decided that I really want to.  It is therapeutic for me to write out what’s happening in my world and how I’m attempting to navigate it.

I also enjoy documenting my progress (or lack thereof) on my home and creative projects.

One of the areas that I definitely want to work on more this year is my creative side. I have not spent much time creating this year and I feel it in my bones. Being creative leads to more creativity and is my happy place. For me, being creative includes making cards, scrapbooking, making things for my home or making gifts. These things tend to either get done at the last minute or not at all. I need creative time. Engaging in these creative pursuits also helps me when making decisions in other parts of my life. It can help me see different solutions or even get unstuck when I’m having difficulty making decisions.

New year memories

Over the holidays, I did manage to make cards as I generally do every year. I ran very late this year on the card making but I did manage to get them out before Christmas (though not by many days)!

So, my plan now is to continue sharing on my blog. However, I’ve decided that instead of posting twice per week, I will reduce it to once per week on Tuesdays. My life has gotten very busy with community activities and work and I simply don’t have the time that I used to.

I plan to do some catch up posts this month including my monthly memory keeping, annual reading goal, as well as sharing the completion of my pantry project. As stated earlier, I will also continue engaging in and sharing these activities this year.

I also have a specific project focus for my home this year that I will share in an upcoming post. It is truly a year long project that I am very much looking forward to working on.

Anyway, if you’re reading this, then I thank you!  I hope you get some value out of reading about my struggles and triumphs. I am a constant work in progress and will continue to follow the “progress not perfection” mantra.  Small progress is still progress and it all counts!

Wish me luck and please share your 2026 plans, goals, intentions in the comments.
