Annual Goals and First Quarter Review

In reviewing my annual goals and what I did in the first quarter, I realize that my overall goals are to make my house into a home that feels like me, doesn’t stress me out and makes me feel happy when I look around. I am also striving to live my life in a healthy way-financially, emotionally and physically. Everyday is always a work in progress and also a chance to change what is not working.

This year, I want to be more intentional about looking at my long term annual goals regularly to make sure that my monthly goals are in fact feeding into my annual goals. I also live by the “progress not perfection” mantra and that any progress no matter how small counts. This is true because it is consistency that creates the change. Consistency does not mean that you have to do the same things the same way everyday for it to count. It does mean though that you have to do something! This is much harder than it sounds especially for those of us with “all or nothing” mindsets. Small actions don’t necessarily feel like it matters in terms of change. We are taught that we always have to “go hard” or it doesn’t count. In fact, it is consistency that helps to create habits. In that vein, a 2 minute movement session counts as much as a 30 minute one. Now, I just have to work on remembering to do what I want to do every day!

Now, let’s review what my annual goals are for the year and what I did in the first quarter (January-March).

I got some things done on this list and am making progress on many others. I’m happy with where I am so far. Also, remember that I am also completing other less intense tasks and projects during the quarter as well.
In the next post, I will go over my plans for the second quarter. I want to focus on a larger project but also add in a few less intense ones so that I can really move forward on this list.
