Time for another outfit post and this one is where the outfits or the colors are kind of the same but the outfits are different. Sometimes, I get a bit obsessed with a style or a color and I want to wear it all of the time. This month, I’m in love with the color combination of camel and black. You see this color combination a lot during the fall but I’m loving it right now.
The style I’m currently obsessed with is wide leg jeans. I’ve been digging wide legs for a while now but currently jeans are in my sights!
Also, you’ll notice in my photos that I’m having some fun trying some different poses, angles and creativity. This is all in the name of fun and just doing something fun for the sake of creativity. I also used my tripod and Apple watch so that I didn’t have to hold the camera. Ideally, I would love to shoot these photos outside because that’s where the best light is but my hallway works for now.
Hope you enjoy!
Color Combo#1

Camel and black from top to bottom. The shirt is actually one piece which is nice because then it’s not as bulky. I love wearing button down shirts under sweaters but they can feel so bulky and move around a lot. I did buy a dickie a few months ago to combat this issue as well but a one piece unit does the trick as well.

This is a fun shot which is using the mirrored closet door as a reflection! In terms of clothing, I’m wearing a couple of older pieces from Target; the cargo pant and my current favorite boots from Universal Standard. The shirt is from Nordstrom Rack and of course their products change too often to be able to link.
Color Combo #2
Here is a the same color combination but a different outfit.

Here I have on a pair of wide legged pants in a caramel/khaki color. In fact, where the pants in the first photos are ankle length, these are long and wide legged. I’m also wearing a black t-shirt that is knotted on the side. Both of these pieces are far from new but are basic enough that you can find them at most stores.

And because it is colder outside these days, I need to wear something over the shirt. I have on a very basic black cardigan that reaches about mid-thigh. Again, another very basic piece available at the retailer of your choice.
Style #1

This is a pair of wide legged jeans from Kut from the Kloth. These are a fairly new purchase. I love the wideness of the leg as well as the seam down the front for a little interest. The cap sleeve sweater is an old purchase as are the sneakers I have on.

I like the fit and rise on these jeans. They are a mid-rise which is right above the belly button and the jeans are soft but structured. Regarding the location of these photos: I was traveling for work so I opted to use the hotel room which has some pretty decent light for these photos.
Style #2

These are another newly purchased pair of jeans this time from Land’s End. They are a bit extra wide legged and I really like it. The style is a more classic jean style, also mid-rise but the flare is large.
You’ll see in these photos that I was indecisive regarding what type of cover up to wear. I started with this long vest but with the wide leg I didn’t like the way it looked.

I tried a cropped jacket but it was meh. Ultimately, I landed on the same basic black sweater that I wore in color combo #2! I like these jeans paired with the mauve top and leopard belt for a bit of interest. I’m pretty sure I have on black boots as well.
So, what do you think? I like using the tripod and not having to hold the camera. I also like playing with poses and the mirror. My posing definitely needs work but I had fun.
What about the outfits? Do you think they are the same or is there enough difference? Any ideas on other coverups or outerwear I can wear with these outfits?
