While my style doesn’t change, I do like to change it up with the seasons. For spring this year, the focus is on dresses, cargo pants, blazers and vests. I’m not sure who decides these things but it’s what you see in stores.
DRESSES
Dresses are popular every year and at all lengths. This year, we see lots of florals and geometric designs.
CARGO PANTS
I’m definitely a fan of the cargo pants trend. I have a few pair and wear them all a lot. Cargo pants can be uber casual like jeans but can also be super dressed up. Cargo pants also tend to come in fabric that is less thick than denim but of course you can find cargo pants in any fabric your heart desires. And of course, many different colors and patterns as well.
BLAZERS
Always a classic to elevate even the most casual look!
Blazers come in all colors and patterns as well as shapes and lengths. There is always the classic 2 button blazers but also cropped styles, boxy styles, oversized and longer length. The best one? Depends on the look but a classic blazer is a good start!
A colored blazer makes this jeans and shirt just a little extra. This white blazer is cropped and fitted and completely elevates this simple jeans and t-shirt look. In general, a blazer can make a very plain outfit very special.
VESTS
A vest is kind of like a blazer but often works better in spring due to warmer weather. Just like a blazer, the vest comes in a types of colors, lengths, patterns and fabrics. A vest also updates and elevates a simple look.
I love both of these looks because they are casual but very cute. The vest on the left is taking the role of a blazer but the lack of sleeves makes it easier to wear in warmer weather but still look put together.
Vests can also be business casual. This long gray wool type vests works well in a professionally setting. And the vest on the right is a good example of a more casual and less structured look.
