2024 Travel Favorites

travel faves header

As I will be embarking on travel in the future, I thought I would share some of most recent travel favorites. I did this post last in 2023, and I have some new ones to add to the list. I stand by all of those on my past list but I also have some newer ones.
For me, I need favorites that make my travel life easier and are not cumbersome to carry. They allow me to bring my everyday products and accessories or help me to feel safe.
If you have questions or suggestions, please share in the comments.

MAKEUP CASE

I am a firm believer in traveling with items that help you to feel like you. I am a makeup wearer both day and night. I like having my makeup brushes with me as I like to use my everyday products. Additionally, I like that I can also put makeup and lip pencils in this case as well as mascara and other tall skinny items. I love how the top folds down and I don’t have to remove any of the items if I don’t want to. There are elastic straps on the inside where you can slide your brushes which leaves the middle open for other makeup items. It is small and compact and doesn’t take up a ton of space.

TOILETRY BOTTLES

As I said before, I like taking my usual products with me. I have travel sizes of some things but being able to decant for longer trips is ideal. Also, have some bottles that are the same size and shape can help with packing. In these bottles, I have moisturizers, toner, facial treatments like retinol or niacinamide. They are 1 oz which works well for a 2 week trip.

TOILETRY BAG

I love using this toiletry bag. It holds a ton of stuff but does not take up lots of room in the suitcase. I like that it folds open and flat so that you can use it without taking items out if you desire. I have this black color but it comes in many others!

BACKPACK

I have had this backpack since 2019 and have used it for work and travel. It is very handy and holds so much. It has a soft section inside for laptop or iPads, 2 side pockets outside and is very roomy inside. The top zipper is structured so it stays open and doesn’t fall in on itself. It is a backpack but also has comfortable handles that you can use to carry more like a purse and it fits nicely under the seat on an airplane.

POWER BEATS PRO

When I upgraded from my AirPods 1, I had to decide if I was going straight to AirPods 2 or 3 or something else. I was never very comfortable with the AirPods not attaching to my ears and I decided that I wanted something to attach to my ears but were not wired. These fit the bill. They hook on to my ears so that they don’t fall out and the charge is very long lasting which is great for across or out of the country flights. I have binged watched 5-6 hours of tv shows while flying. They are fairly comfortable though they are not noise cancelling. However, they cancel out enough background noise and I don’t feel like the noise interferes with whatever I’m listening to.

Mee Inflight

Full disclosure-this is a recent purchase for me and I have not used it yet. I think it’s a great idea though!! This little device connects wirelessly to your own headphones so that you can watch the entertainment provided on your seat back television!! You don’t have to use those flimsy headphones that many airlines don’t even offer anymore.
You can watch their programming without fear that your phone or iPad battery will run down. I am very much looking forward to using this device on my upcoming trip.

QUESTION/CONSIDERATION

For many years, I have used this travel stand to corral my products. I liked it because everything is in one place so that you don’t lose or leave anything in the hotel room. Plus, everything charges together and it only take one plug. The charging plugs are all contained within the unit so I only need to think about and bring this one unit.

The one draw back is that it is bulky! It doesn’t pack great and I always have to finagle it to fit in my suitcase.
Because of that, I’m considering getting something like this:

It’s clearly much less bulky but would require me to make sure I pack and carry all of the plugs I need for charging including the lightening plug for my iPhone, the usb-c plug for my iPad and the charging pad for my Apple Watch. Additionally, I’ll need the plug to charge my portable charger and other random products that don’t take the apple plug.

So, please tell me-what do you think? Do you think I should stay with what I have or switch to the new plug? Or, do you have another idea?? Share in the comments.
