New clothes and outfits are always fun but what I find most rewarding is putting together new outfits from items that you already have in your closet. In today’s outfits, nothing I am wearing is new. In fact, some of the items are at least a few years old if not older. Sometimes, you don’t wear something for awhile, see it again in your closet, and then it feels like a whole new outfit.
CLOSET FIT #1
I love this dress! It is definitely an all season piece. I will certainly wear this with flats and sandals in the spring and summer but her I have it paired with black tights and black boots.
I’m also very fond of the length of this dress. It’s almost to the knee so not too short. And of course, I’m not sure when pockets became mandatory on dresses but pockets do make things better.
CLOSET FIT #2
Here you see me wearing 3 pieces that you’ve seen before. I have on the same boots as in the previous photo. I wear these jeans all of the time so they are nothing new. And, while I don’t wear this shirt a lot, I have had it for years.
I thought I play around with camera and tripod and attempt to take some more interesting and fun photos! I do enjoy the double image with the mirror reflection!
This is the jacket that I paired with this outfit. I wore this outfit to the office and then to a retirement party. My office is a fairly casual place but the jacket elevates the look to a bit more professional.
This jacket is a fun play on a basic black blazer. You’ll see on the photo on the right that there is fringe all down the front. I also love the longer length of the jacket.
CLOSET FIT #3
This is definitely a “I have to go to work but I really don’t feel like it”! Again, these pieces are not new and you’ve seen the body suit, pants and shoes a number of times.
This sweater duster is definitely a staple in my closet and wardrobe. It goes with everything and I wear it a lot. It’s very comfortable and easy to wear.
CLOSET FIT #4
The jacket and the boots are back!! This was also an easy outfit to pull from the closet to put together. Under the jacket, I have a loose black sweater and houndstooth ankle length pants.
One thing that I think makes this outfit a little special is that because the pants are a shorter length it shows off the boots more.
CLOSET FIT #5
I think this might be my favorite out of the closet look. Calling it an outfit is an exaggeration I think. Again, everything here is old and has been worn a bunch of times. It’s your basic jeans and t-shirt with tennis shoes outfit.
Pretty basic but matching the animal print belt with the tennis shoes with the animal print laces makes it a step up from basic. Also, this was a casual Friday look for work so I added a black blazer with a large flower to once again elevate the basic look.
So, what are your thoughts? Do you ever “shop” your closet? It can be fun to take a few basics and see how many outfits you can make and how many different ways.
