RUNNING TO DO LIST (RTDL)
This year, I also plan to maintain a “running to-do” list. This list is where you put all of those little niggling things that you keep putting off like freshening up paint, putting up a mirror, sew button back on, etc….
Each month I will update on my monthly goals post what I’ve crossed off this list and will add new tasks as they make themselves aware.
The trick here is to make the distinction between a task for a project vs the running to do list. My thought process here is that the RTDL is a do it and then it’s done; it doesn’t take a terrible long time and doesn’t require the gathering of resources.
CURRENT RTDL:
-clean makeup brushes (then schedule regularly)
-declutter makeup (lots of it is really old and needs to be tossed
-clean behind stove
-clean behind refrigerator
-install magnifying mirror in primary bath
-put new shower head in primary bath
-get rid of broken shower head in guest bath
-put another shower head in guest bath
-print 2022 Project Life pages
-put 2022 Project Life page in an album
-print 2023 Project Life pages
-put 2023 Project Life pages in an album
-hem maxi dress
This is the plan for 2024. It’s ambitious, a little outrageous but exciting none the less. I’m also glad that I added the running to do list because getting smaller items like these done helps me to feel accomplished and to continue on with the larger projects.
I’ll keep you up to date with where I am each month. My goal is to finish one of the larger projects before moving on to another larger project. I’m trying to break the habit of getting 80% done and then moving on.
Have you planned your goals for 2024? Do you make an ambitious list or try to keep it realistic? What about a running to do list? Is this helpful to you or do you do these things as they arise? Share in the comments!
