We made it! It’s the final year of 2023 which means that we are full into the holiday season. This is a time to reflect and celebrate and to be grateful.
For me, this is a time to loosen the reins on the productivity and goals a bit. Actually, this is a time to focus on productivity and goals as they relate to the holiday season. Time to make cards, figure out gifts, plan out treats for parties and make time to attend ALL the parties. The home stuff definitely shifts to the back of the mind.
I’ll review my how my goals worked out for November and then share my simple plan for December.
Review November Goals
HOME
Continue cleaning out my primary closet-COMPLETED. I actually got this done and I couldn’t be more thrilled. One day I just hunkered down and decided to get it done instead of parsing it out little by little. I shared some initial progress and I will have a follow up blog post will be coming in January.
CREATIVE
Start making my holiday cards with the goal to have them mailed by December 11-COMPLETED. I have started making the holiday cards and I “hope” to have them mailed out by December 11. I’ll follow up in January to let you know if that happened.
HEALTH/FITNESS
Daily Movement for 18 days for a minimum of 20 minutes-NOPE. I completed only 5 days this month. I felt myself getting stressed and deciding that I had more important or urgent things to do instead.
SPIRITUAL
Mask 8 times this month-NOPE. I completed this task only 2 times this month.
FINANCIAL
Spend at least 4 hours this month on financial tasks-NOPE. I spent zero hours on this task this month.
Last month, I also mentioned some “maybe” projects that I might try to accomplish.
-call someone about doing my ceiling drywall (NO)
-Do a Goodwill run (NO but I will definitely do this in December).
-Start the laundry room makeover (NO) My machines were delivered but I decided that there was no reason to start this makeover when I have other holiday tasks that need to get done.
DECEMBER GOALS AND INTENTIONS
My plans for this month are to really just focus on getting my holiday tasks done. This includes finishing my handmade cards, decorate my home, figure out and buy or make holiday gifts. These tasks may seem like they shouldn’t take that long but they will. I have about 100 cards to make and send out! Additionally, I plan to spend time just enjoying the season and my friends and family. I’m not going to worry about decluttering, cleaning, organizing or makeovers right now.
Come 2024, I will undoubtedly have a long list of items I want to get done.
That’s my list for December. It’s holiday focused vs life focused. But it’s what I think is appropriate for this time of year.
In that spirit, as usual I will be taking a holiday blog break later this month. I’ll have a few more posts and then will take off the final 2 weeks of the year.
