Time for one of my favorite monthly posts-what’s Trena wearing now??!!?? I love doing these posts and looking back at what I wore. I don’t know how I’d describe my style; it’s a bit of everything-classic, comfort, trendy. I don’t really do vintage or anything super specific. I like certain things but I also like to try things. I really like to take older clothing and style it in a new way.
Let’s see what this month’s style has to offer!
STYLE ONE
This is a dress that I wear year round. In this spring and summer, I usually style it with flats like this or with sandals and in the fall I wear boots.
There’s just something about a dress with pockets! I also like that this dress has a high/low feature. It’s not drastic but you can see that the back is a bit longer than in the front.
STYLE TWO
This is what I consider “lazy” dressing. There is nothing special about it -it’s workable. I tied up the shirt in the front just so it’s not hanging loose and sloppy. Every day is not a fashionable day!
I am though a big fan of loafers and these are somewhat new from Target. While they have a very fall feel, these loafers will work well in the spring as well.
STYLE THREE
This is an “what’s old is new again” outfit. The pants are at least a couple of years old and the shirt is about a decade old. There’s also a hard/soft element to this style. The shirt is silky and the pants are kind of a hard denim cargo pant.
I’m not choking myself; I’m just showing you that my shirt has the ability to be tied in a bow. It’s an added element to this hard/soft style. The mixing of textures is a style that is very popular right now.
STYLE FOUR
This style features 2 of my favorite things; one piece dressing and a dress with pockets. Being stylish with one piece dressing is not hard when you have a dress with some character. While this is a simple piece, black and white is a stylish combination.
This is another Amazon purchase for me. I love these maxi dresses. They are easy to wear and to dress up or down. These dresses come in many different colors and styles.
STYLE FIVE
Talk about another ancient wardrobe piece! This skirt is about 12-14 years old. The shoes are new but the t-shirt is not. This skirt is really comfortable to wear especially when it’s hot. It can translate to fall as well with a sweater and boots.
And yes, the skirt has pockets. These are my new favorite shoes. They are so comfortable and I wear them every chance I get. These are in the color magnet which is black but not a deep black. In some lights, they appear navy or even purplish.
So there you have it. What are your thoughts on style? Do you feel like you have a particular style? Are there “fashion rules” that you follow or refuse to follow? Share in the comments.
