Today, I’m sharing some recent outfit choices. I’ve said in the past that I enjoy clothes and fashion-it’s a creative outlet. In addition to putting together the full outfit, it’s also fun to look at details. Even when outfits are easy and uncomplicated, minor little details can elevate the look.
OUTFIT #1
This is a very simple outfit. The shirt with the flutter sleeve is a detail that elevates the look just a little. It’s not fancy but it’s also not sloppy either.
These are my favorite high rise jeans and this shirt is a kind of recent TJ Maxx purchase. I love the black and cream color as the shirt will also work well in the fall.
OUTFIT #2
I’m off on a trip and I insist on comfort when I fly. I’m headed to Vegas and while it’s very warm there I have a night flight and it will be a little chilly on the plane. This outfit works well for me because I can take the shirt off if I get too warm on the plane or when I arrive at my destination.
What I would identify as a “detail” in this photo is how I wore the denim shirt. You have the option of tying the shirt up as I did or wearing it open-more as a cover up. Either works fine. I like tying the shirt because it feels more fitted and a bit cleaner to me.
OUTFIT #3
I’m in Vegas to see Adele and I am excited!! This is one piece dressing at its finest. I got this beauty from Amazon. I love the detail of the pleats in the dress and the high neckline without it being tight!
The dress comes in many different colors and I may be inspired to get one in a different color. It was really comfortable and easy to wear.
OUTFIT #4
First things first. As I edit these photos, I see that white streak on the mirror!! How annoying! Anyway, this jeans and t-shirt look is elevated by the fun tulle sleeves on the shirt!
The sleeves are so fun and when I’ve worn this shirt people tend to smile and make comments about how fun the sleeves are. There is something about tulle that is fun, girly, and sweet. It also elevates a simple jeans and tee look.
OUTFIT #5
Again, jean with a shirt. The detail here is how I have it tucked. The shirt itself is flowy which leaves room to only tuck one side leaving the other side out and the shirt not being too tight. This is called a “side tuck.” A “french tuck” is when the entire front is tucked in and the back left out.

Again, please try to ignore the spot on the mirror. I couldn’t blur it out or remove it without removing my pants as well!!
Even with simple outfits, the devil can be in the details. It doesn’t take much to make a simple outfit a little “extra” without being fussy.
Hope you enjoyed!
