Happy September and happy fall! I know that it’s not quite technically fall yet but Labor Day typically signifies the end of summer and back to “regular” life. In truth, many kids have been back in school since early to mid-August!
In any event, September feels like a new start for many. As you’re aware, I took off most of August from blogging and am back now to share my life with you. My life is not exciting or special in any way but I enjoy documenting the regular of daily life to demonstrate how special life is and how precious our lives really are. I feel thankful to have the life that I have knowing that many others would see my life as the pinnacle.
As usual, I will start off this month with reviewing my goals for August and sharing goals and intentions for September. From the start of the year, my theme has been “progress, not perfection.” I wanted to stay on task and get the things done that I say I want to get done but not be too hard on myself if I don’t get them done. I’m also trying to strike a balance between not being too lazy vs beating myself up. I am working on being more disciplined; not sure how it’s going yet but we’ll see.
Let’s review August’s goals:
HOME
Start master closet declutter-NOPE
Work on decluttering stationary closet at least twice per week-NOPE
Goodwill Run-COMPLETED
CREATIVE
Spend time being creative just for fun-COMPLETED
Organize scrapbook cart-NOPE
HEALTH/FITNESS
Exercise x 6 days- COMPLETED 4 DAYS
Steps-5500 x 20 days-COMPLETED 12 DAYS
SPIRITUAL
Mask x 4-COMPLETED 2
FINANCIAL
Gather receipts and statements to prep for budget catch up-NOPE
One of the things I realized is that I want/need to keep judgement out of my completing or not completing goals and it’s really hard. I’m happy when I do complete a task or a goal but I get down on myself when the same things come up over and over again. Something to ponder.
SEPTEMBER GOALS AND INTENTIONS
HOME
*Master Closet Clean Out x 30 minutes per week
*Guest Closet Clean Out X 30 minutes per week
(I’m hoping that I will feel less overwhelmed if I give myself a time limit and will feel more encouraged to do the task. I’m fully aware though that “feeling” has nothing to do with discipline).
*Take my boots in to my local cobbler to evaluate having the heel shaved down. I have a pair of boots that I love but the heel is just a smidge to high to wear comfortably. I’d like a 1/4 to 1/2 inch taken off.
CREATIVE
*Spend some time being creative just for fun. I did this last month and found pure joy in it. I also got other ideas about things I wanted to do. My brain was just swimming with creative thoughts.
HEALTH/FITNESS
*5500 steps x 20 days
*Exercise x 6 days
*Meal Prep-pre-make waffles, brown sugar syrup and at least one dinner each week.
SPIRITUAL
*Mask x 4
*Continue journaling project x 4 (weekly)
FINANCIAL
* Do September budget-I’m hoping that if I only focus on this one financial task then I will not feel overwhelmed at the thought of getting it done. Just like exercise, I fret about it and then feel great after it’s over!
