Today, I’m talking about my creative choices in getting dressed recently. In my last fashion post, I talked about what I call “lazy dressing.” In case you’re not aware, this is not a technical fashion term, just something that I made up. It’s when I need to get dressed for work or something else, but don’t really feel like thinking a lot about my outfits. Sometimes, people say this is why you should have a uniform. These are pieces that you can put together without thought and still looked put together and feel comfortable. It’s not a bad concept but I have never done that. When I clean out my closet, I may look in to doing that!
This time I just have a few outfits to share. I think I haven’t been really thinking about my clothes because my closet is overstuffed and a mess. It really is hard to think about putting outfits together when the inspiration is all cluttered up! Clearly, a closet clean out is in the works! But for now, here are my less than but still recent creative clothing choices.
CREATIVE CHOICE 1
Even though my Golden State Warriors are no longer in the playoffs, I’m still watching! Today, I’m hanging out with other sports fans to watch a playoff game. Full disclosure, I don’t recall which playoff game! No matter who is playing, I’m still reppin’ my Warriors!
CREATIVE CHOICE 2
This was a very exciting time for me in this outfit. I’m at the State Convention for Democrats where I am a delegate. I get to hob nob with other local and national politicos and do my part to learn ways to inform my community about issues impacting their lives.
The look is business casual and it’s important to be comfortable as there is a lot of walking. I’m wearing my favorite work shoes which are a low heeled sling back. I also have on houndstooth or gingham pants with a basic black blazer.
CREATIVE CHOICE 3
Another easy outfit that might fit the bill as a “uniform.” I have on a body suit along with some basic wide leg pants. These pants are super comfortable and I love that they have pockets. These pants are easily dressed up or down and look equally cute with work shoes or tennis shoes.
I paired this look with a cropped jacket because it was warm outside but not warm enough to not wear something. Next time though I think I’d wear either a black or white shirt with these pants and jacket. This jacket is over a decade old and doesn’t get a lot of wear but after pulling it out I’m enjoying wearing it again.
That’s the short list for this month! Hopefully, in the coming months after I clean out my closet, I’ll get my creative clothing mojo back!
