Time to share my memory keeping and reflection on my monthly memory keeping project. I am always amazed when I look back at my month and have already forgotten some things that happened or that I did. This month, I had an unexpected thing happen. I’ve been documenting since the end of last year that I was running for ADEM (assembly district election meetings). It was my first crack at running for anything political and I was proud of myself for taking this step even though it was really scary for me. I didn’t win and I was okay with that. Again, I was pleased that I stepped all the way out of my comfort zone.
You’ll see a text on the 15th saying that the controller would like to offer you one of the positions. I didn’t win the ADEM election but I was instead appointed as a delegate by out State Controller. This was completely unexpected but when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at it-nerves and all.
I point out this event only because it is uniquely special. However, as I’ve said before, one of the reasons I do this monthly project is because I want to document not just the special times but also the regular, ordinary days of life. Our lives are made up of more ordinary days than special days and I think that those ordinary days should be acknowledged since those are the days that really make up our lives.
MARCH MEMORIES
MARCH 1-7
MARCH 8-14
MARCH 15-21
MARCH 22-28
MARCH 29-31
March was fun for a lot of reasons. Now that the 3rd month is over it feels like the year is really moving along. It definitely feels like we’re coming out of the darkness of winter and into the brightness and warmth of spring.
