Finally Making Progress

I am so excited!! I feel as if I am finally making real progress on my home. I finally completed one task that has been on my to do list for awhile. I had the furniture that was taking up space in my home removed. I got an estimate and it was better than I anticipated!
In this process, I also did a Goodwill run and got rid of some other items that were taking up space. But I’m a bad blogger and forgot to take photos!

ARMOIRE

Yes, you read that right-the armoire is gone! The guy who took all of my items away had a helper and they carried that gigantic thing from my dining room and out the front door-no dolly, no nothing, just brute strength!!!

It is real progress by itself to have the armoire gone but there are a few other items that are lending to my excitement as well.

BROKEN MIRROR

You may recall this broken mirror from my master bath remodel in 2020!! The mirror broke as I was taking it down and it has sat on my balcony since then.

Even though there are other items on the balcony that need to be dealt with, I have a plan for them. I finally feel like I have space to actually clean the balcony and make progress towards its refresh. More to come!

TV STAND

This is a more recent development related to Michyle finding my replacement during one of her walks. I have been looking for a dresser for storage since completing my office refresh in 2021 but have not found anything. This one is perfect and with the other items being picked up it was perfect timing to add this item to the pile.

I have to say that the dresser is larger than the old tv stand but the space feels much more open. I think it’s because the pillows look stuffed and cluttered while closed drawers hide the clutter. This was my goal with wanting a dresser for storage. Of course, this will not remain this color. I have some painting plans which I am very excited about!

BOOKSHELF

This bookshelf has been a work horse for me other the years. It was a victim of my living room refresh. Initially, I thought that I might use it else where but finally came to the conclusion that I didn’t need it. I’ve realized that sometimes I hold on to things because I don’t want to feel like I’m creating waste.

I can’t show you the “after” of this space because it’s part of my living room refresh. The finale of the living room is coming sooner rather than later.

I’m so excited to be making progress on my projects. With the pieces gone, I have a much better idea of where my house stands and what needs focus. I still have too much stuff but I’m working my way through it. Progress not perfection, right??!!
