Today, I have just a quick post to give you an insight to my upcoming to do list. This is how my brain works. While I am working to finish up my living room refresh, I start seeing and thinking about other projects that I want to work on. I’m not sure yet which order these projects will be completed but they are on the sooner rather than later list!
#1–DRESSER
This project is related to my office refresh which was completed last year. One item that was on the list was to replace the current tv stand with a dresser where I can use the drawers for storage and get rid of the filing cabinet.
My friend (and often times extra hands) Michyle, spotted this gem on one of her walks. It is close to perfect in terms of size but I did want it to be a bit taller. Other than cleaning, painting and changing out the drawer pulls, I have decided that I will add feet to give it a bit more height. I have to really examine the underside to see what kind of space I have or can add to achieve this goal. Stay tuned!! FYI-this is my favorite type of project-using something that already exists and transforming it into something specifically for my needs (upcycling)!!
#2-COAT CLOSET
This project to declutter my coat closet was on my monthly goals list for February and didn’t get done. But it will happen very soon. This type of project is one of the hardest for me to complete. Even though I really want to get rid of items I haven’t worn or used in a long time, I get attached to the reason why I bought something or a place(s) where I wore something to. Putting it out here in public helps to keep me accountable!
#3-PANTRY
This is is task that should really be done at least yearly if only to get rid of expired or unwanted items. I’m thinking that I will do a bit more. The wire shelf works well but make things unstable even in the containers. I think that I will add foam core over the shelves to make them more steady. I’m also considering getting containers that are more cohesive. Even though I am a big fan of using what you have, sometimes it can be helpful to reduce visual clutter when you use like containers. Of course, it’s more important that the containers are right for the items. I have a small pantry and not a ton of room for extras so I also have to be mindful of that.
#4-BALCONY
This area is my great shame! This balcony has allowed me the space to work on and create so many projects and I generally ignore her!! I will still use the balcony in this way but I do need space to store items. I believe I have found an appropriate container to assist with this.
Another goal with this space, is to also be able to sit out here and enjoy being outside!
As you can see, I have plenty to keep me busy for the next few months! Do you have any upcoming projects that you plan to work on in the near future? Share in the comments.
I love that you came up with a solution to add the height you want – what a brilliant idea and I never would have thought of that! I’m sure there will be some way to attach the legs 🙂
