Time to share some more of my recent outfits. And, just like last time, I’ll show you an outfit that I was not happy with. Because I’m not a celebrity, you’ll see some pieces that you’ve seen before but hopefully styled at least a bit differently. And, I guess because it’s been warm to hot there are a lot of dresses featured.
OUTFIT #1
You’ve seen these pants before and I still love them! I call them my balloon pants and this time they are paired with a chambray or denim shirt tied at the bottom. Because of the volume of these pants, it is necessary to have a shirt that is more fitted and not loose. The shirt is several years old and the shoes were heavily featured in last month’s OOTD.
OUTFIT #2
Both items in this post are several years old. The dress was purchased at Kohl’s many years ago and is from the Vera Wang collection. This little black dress has been worn for all sorts of occasions from weddings to funerals. It is an easy dress to wear and can be worn with all type of shoes. Here I’ve paired the dress with an ankle strap pointy toed block heeled flat. I don’t recall when or where I purchased them as they again are several years old. I love the detail of the tie at the waist.
OUTFIT #3
This little camo dress is a more recent purchase also from Kohl’s. Another dress that can be worn with lots of different types of shoes. I have paired it with my Adidas that I talked about in this post. Though it seems to have a summer vibe, I can see myself wearing this in the fall/winter with jeans, leggings, and boots (not all together!!).
OUTFIT #4
Once again, I’m showing another dress. I really like one piece dressing! Less to think about. I also prefer dresses when it is hot outside. This dress is more recent and is from the A New Day brand at Target. It is loose and very comfortable and it has pockets! It also has sleeves so it will be very wearable in the cooler months as well. While this brand is a regular one for Target, they do change out their selections seasonally so it can be hard to find the exact thing.
OUTFIT #5
Another dress and another older item. I don’t recall where I got this dress but I do remember that it was out of season and I didn’t pay much for it. Again, it has many of my favorite elements-long, pockets, comfortable. I wore this on a really hot day and it was easy to wear. I like the belt tie which gives me a waist.
OUTFIT #6
Another day and another very comfortable dress. Universal Standard makes this dress and I really like the ruching/scrunching detail. The dress comes in short and long sleeves and lots of different colors. They are size inclusive & carry sizes 00-40. I got this dress and 2 others as part of a mystery box for $99. This dress alone costs $130 so definitely a good value. The risk is that you don’t get to pick the dresses-they pick for you! You can fill out a lengthy quiz so that they can get a sense of what you like or don’t. It’s a little scary but I love a lot of their clothes so I took a chance. My box was dress specific and I was thrilled with everything that I got.
This dress can also be worn with different shoes making it more casual with tennis shoes or more dressy with a heel and even a blazer. These leopard flats put it in the middle between dressy and super casual. It will also work very nicely in cooler months. I’m sensing a theme here!
WHAT NOT TO WEAR
This is my least favorite of the bunch for a couple of very specific reasons. I don’t care for the color or length of these leggings with this shirt. The leggings are not the right length for this shirt. I have worn this shirt (which was sold as a dress a couple of years ago at H&M!) with skinny ankle jeans and I love that look. Here the white is not a good complement for the colors in this shirt either.
That’s it for this fashion edition. Based on these photos, it would be easy to think that I prefer dresses to pants. I actually don’t have a preference but dresses work better for me in the summer. In the fall/winter, I’ll likely be wearing more pants, leggings and boots.
So any thoughts on my outfits? Do you have a favorite? Share in the comments!
You look great! Thanks for the tips and suggestions
