Today, I’m sharing two cards that I made for March. I actually made multiples of both so that I have some on hand to send out when needed. One is for two birthdays this month and 1 card is a “just because” card. Both cards can be used as “just because” cards though. I was inspired to make a “just because” card because I was contacted by two old friends this month. One I hadn’t seen or spoken with in about a year and the other one for 17-18 years!!! I was thrilled to hear from both and plan to keep in touch.
CARD 1-THE DRESS
As you’ll recall, one of my goals this month was to use a different technique than I had used in January and February.
This card is made with die cuts, a flower and a brad from my stash. Everything on this card is from products that I have had for a long time. I used my Cricut Explore 2 to cut out the dress and liner. The polka dot layer was created with a wooden stamp which I have had for over a decade!
CARD 2-THE FLOWERS
This card is also made with die cuts. I cut out the circle from patterned paper and then little flowers in 8 different colors. The stamped image on the white layer is from a stamp. I used my Misti Stamping tool so that I could stamp the stripes over and over until it reached the color I was looking for. The ink color is a very pale pink and barely shows up with just one application.
I had a good time making these cards. One of the things I enjoy about making cards is that it doesn’t take a long time (though designing is often time consuming) and the feeling of accomplishment happens when the card is complete. Even though there may be a lot of steps to making a card, it is not a project that takes forever to complete!
If you have ideas for cards or themes for card making that you’d like to see me try, let me know. I love stretching my creativity muscles!
Wow, nice cards. You are creative. Have you thought about selling cards?
