Moving right along with my master bath refresh. We’ve made to the home stretch where the majority of the big projects are complete. One of the 2 bigger projects left is laying down the new flooring. We can now count this one as done!
BEFORE
This is where we started. Your typical vinyl sheet which is laid down in one piece. The vinyl sheet had been laid to go up the wall which is not uncommon. As you’ll recall, I cut the vinyl border in preparation for the new floor.
Where We’re Headed
These are 12×12 vinyl tiles by Floor Pops. They are like a large sticker and can be laid over an existing floor. There are easy to work with when you have to cut down to size or around corners. There are several styles and patterns to choose from. Though the tiles are easy to work with and are sticker-like, they are quite hardy and substantial. They have some weight to them.
And We Begin
Floor Pops recommends that you start in the center of the room and work from there. This is so that any gaps or smaller pieces can be against the wall or not in the center of the floor.
And We Continue
I laid out all of the tiles before I started sticking them down. It’s pretty easy to follow the pattern. Sometimes, you have to rotate a tile to get a better pattern match.
And We’re Done!
I love how this came out! It didn’t take very long to do the easy parts. The hardest part of course was maneuvering around the toilet area. That is where the tiles required the most small and curved cuts.
AFTER
And, if you look closely, (not even!) you can see what the last big project is. To complete the floor project, I’ll need to install baseboards. Stay tuned!
