The mirror project in the master bath refresh has been the longest running project in this whole DIY scene. The original plan (as you’ll recall) was to frame the large mirror that was already in place. A series of unfortunate events kept pushing this project off-needing to remove the aluminum frame, needing help to move the mirror, the mirror breaking and finally having to decide which direction I wanted to go with it. Last month I told that a decision had been made and I did not lie!
What Did I Decide?
After a lot of back and forth and some research, I decided that I would purchase 2 mirrors. Instead of 2 square mirrors with a chunky wood frame, I went with this:
I opted for 2 round mirrors with a black finish!! No one was more surprised than me. However, the black finish goes with the faucets and the cabinet hardware. And the shape is just so unexpected.
Of course, nothing in my DIY adventures goes smoothly and this didn’t either. I ordered the mirrors from Home Depot and had them delivered. Everything went fairly smoothly but one of the mirrors was delivered broken!
I had the opportunity to do an in person exchange which DID go seamlessly and easily.
The end result is 2 unexpected and beautiful mirrors which add to the character of my master bath refresh.
Another major project is complete. There are only 2 major projects left-the flooring and the baseboards. Everything else is detail work!
An update on the floor will be coming later this month!
