It’s gift giving time and I enjoy making homemade gifts to give to my Book Club Babes. Every year, I spend months thinking about what I want to do and generally go through several different ideas. And every year, I figure it out about 6 weeks before our annual holiday party and then scramble to put the pieces and parts together. I generally like to give something that is useful and functional.
With this in mind, this year I opted to go with a pouch decorated with heat transfer vinyl. I also enjoy personalizing and adding little details.

The front of the pouch has the name of our book club as well as the member’s name. The back has the year on it.

The book club babes is made with holographic heat transfer vinyl (HTV) and the names are done with a rose tone HTV.
The year is in black HTV.

I like to keep the wrapping simple mostly because I’m usually wrapping a day or two before the party!!! The wrapping is red polka dot craft colored bags. I cut out the name tags and also had my die cut machine write each name. I wrapped the tag with some matching washi tape and added some seasonally themed stickers to each tag.
There was some talk about how to use the pouches. A couple of ideas involve putting tech equipment in them-cords, chargers, ear phones and pods or using it as a walking pharmacy(as I call it) or emergency kit including tylenol, hand sanitizer, band aids, dental floss, sewing kits, etc…
GIFTS I RECEIVED
In addition to giving gifts, I was also fortunate to receive some goodies as well.
I received 3 books between my 2 book clubs, a candle that evokes strong winter feelings and a handmade embroidered tea towel.
The books I received and look forward to reading are:
A Proper Marriage by Doris Lessing
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult
I love this time of year and I especially love being creative. When I hit a creative lull, I am always grateful for my desire to make something to share with others. I need to find a way to keep this going throughout the entire year.
Happy Holidays!! Share whatever you want in the comments!!!
