BOX OF STUFF
This is one of those small tasks that has been hanging on my to do list for even longer than I realized. I had even mentioned it in a previous post as something that I wanted and needed to deal with it. When you want your house to feel homey, you (me) have to deal with those nagging, irritating tasks that don’t add to your space but in actuality detracts from it.
If I remember correctly, this box was created when people were coming over or spending the night and I needed to sweep stuff off of the couch and just get it out of the way so the I could accommodate my guests.
While this may not be a bad last minute plan, the goal should be to deal with the items the next day or soon after and not wait………….4 years!!! Yep, I had letters and bills in that box that dated back to 2015. In fact, there were property tax bills that were from 2011-2012. Now, don’t worry those taxes were already paid but the paperwork clearly had not been filed. We won’t talk about what this means about my filing system!
WHAT WAS IN THE BOX OF STUFF
Nothing really of any importance-just some random bits and bobs. Paperwork, sports memorabilia, an empty planner from 2018 and random paper. The most useful items from the box was 2 very large bags. I say the most useful because I can use them to discard stuff from my projects or use them to corral items for donation.
Even though this was not one of those projects that has a huge noticeable impact, it was still important to get it done. It was one of those things that hung around and took up space in my brain because at least twice per day I would see the box and tell myself that I needed to deal with it. Over the years, the box has lived in different rooms but for the last two years it has been moved around my bedroom.
Now that it is taken care of, I can make more space in my brain for more creative endeavors!
Another project knocked off of the “to do” list!! Don’t forget to celebrate those small victories!
