Just a quick post to share some recently purchased home decor items. I also want to share when I choose to make something vs. buying an item.
I recently purchased these signs and decided that I would display them in my hallway area. It’s about high time I completely finished the space! It’s mostly done but there are always small details to attend to.
I really love the look of these “farmhouse” type of signs. I also like the idea of making these types of signs. I have made signs in the past and enjoy the process.
Buying vs Making
One of the reasons that I decided to purchase these signs is because they were on sale for an excellent price! The signs were buy one, get two free. This is an unbelievably good deal. One of the things that has happened in recent years with popular home decor items in stores like Michaels and Joann’s is that they are pricing these types of items ridiculously high! They usually have a 40-50% off coupon but I generally feel that they sale price is what the “real” price should be.
When you make something, you need to factor in not just the cost of the materials but also time and talent. Some signs are easier to make than others.
I didn’t feel that I could realistically make any of these signs as well so I went for it!
The “HOME” was priced at $29.99.
The “LIVE SIMPLY” sign was priced at $39.99. I would have NEVER paid full price for this sign!
The big “FAMILY” sign was priced at $34.99.
This small “FAMILY sign was not a part of the sale. It was priced at $12.99 but was on coupon for 40% off making it $7.79. I think that this is the right price for this sign.
These signs are going in different parts of my hallway. I’ll show you when it’s done.
