I finally managed to get to this task that I knew wouldn’t take very long but I also knew that it could lead me down another path (more later)!
If you’ll recall, this drawer houses t-shirts that I only wear inside my home. I don’t care if they get dirty, stained, painted on etc….
this is where we started
It’s not awful but the drawer is stuffed and of course there are shirts that never see the light of day!
this is where we landed
Not only is this drawer much less full but there are clothes in this drawer that weren’t there before! This is the bonus path that I was led down……
This is another drawer that housed lounge wear and clothes that I paint in. Things in this drawer were not being utilized so I decided to go through it as well.
When all was said and done, I put the lounge wear and paint clothes into the “inside” t-shirt drawer.
And you know what that left me with?
Yep, an EMPTY drawer!! I can’t tell you that last time I had an empty drawer. Probably when I bought this dresser!
Which led me down another path…………….
BONUS ORGANIZING
There is another drawer in this 5 drawer dresser that holds my sweaters. I don’t have a ton of them (I do wear them) but the drawer has been neglected. I knew that it would take just a minute so I pulled everything out of the drawer, put a couple of items in the donate pile and then folded my sweaters like my t-shirt drawer.
As usual, I have a nice pile for donation. And because I’ve been doing so much cleaning and organizing, it’s time to empty the container and take it to be donated!
My clothing has now been gone through and whittled down to what I need and use.
I love these smaller projects to feel a sense of accomplishment and bring order to my home. However, the other side of that coin is it makes it easier to procrastinate on the larger projects. As we head toward the summer months, I will begin full preparation for my master bath refresh.
