Zombie Planner Crop with Carpe Diem

I haven’t always considered myself a creative person but over the past 15 years I have tapped into my creative energy in several different ways.  I enjoy taking pictures, making cards, scrapbooking, creating home decor projects, doing project life and paper planning. Like many, I’m still finding my groove with my style and system, but I like my planning to be functional, colorful and inspirational (meaning I like stickers)!

Saturday, October 28 found me at Scrapbook Island, a local scrapbook store in Los Gatos, CA spending several hours with like-minded planner folks.  The event was sponsored by Simple Stories with Layle Koncar of Carpe Diem as our hostess. Because it was the weekend before Halloween, the event was a zombie planner crop complete with costumed participants and trick or treating on the menu.

Interestingly, I chose to catch up on my project life album instead of working on my planner.  There was no earth shattering reason other than it granted me several uninterrupted hours to work on my album and get current while chatting and communing with other creative folks.  As odd as it sounds, I was not out-of-place working on a separate creative endeavor.  Many of the participants were working on their bullet journals.

Everyone spent time working on their projects while Layle showed off different and new planner products.  She also came around to each table with candy, stickers, brads, and other assorted goodies for our “trick or treat”!  We also did a couple of cute and easy make and takes including making a planner clip using a large paper clip and tulle ribbon. Additionally, several of the other attendees had goodies to share with all of us and I came home with bags of candy, homemade paper clips, and items to color.

It was a really fun time and I encourage you to spend time working, playing, and exploring with other creatives.  It really helps to get your juices flowing and, having uninterrupted creative time is magnificent!

How do you get your creative juices flowing?
